What our guests say:

June 2016: We loved the house and had a wonderful time. A few things we especially liked: – Beautiful views of Puget Sound – Great little back yard for the kids to play in – Easy access to the rocky beach down a flight of stairs. The separation from the beach is especially good for little kids – Easy ferry ride. Unlike some of the bigger San Juan islands, Lummi is easy to get to with little or no ferry wait – Great living area with amazing views of the water – Did I mention the views?? The only thing to note is that the fourth bedroom no longer has a queen size bed and has two twin beds instead. We would love to go again!

2016:
This home is well appointed and a great place for family and friends to gather. Our family of 4 (all adults) was very comfortable. The home is very well decorated and beautiful inside. The views of the water and Orca Island from the kitchen and dining room/living room are spectacular. The kitchen is also well appointed and stocked with lots of place settings, silverware, pots and pans, cooking utensils. Lummi Island is a quiet retreat from the world. There is a small grocery store on the island that is well stocked with essentials and baked goods, ice cream and other treats. There is a ferry to get to the island. It is only a 5-6 minute ride. You pay going to the island. It does get a little pricey and something to consider as you plan trips off of the island. You pay for your vehicle and each passenger ($34 each trip for our 4 people, round trip). The ferry schedule is convenient during the day and loads efficiently. It does run less often in the evenings (about hourly after 8PM) with the last run around midnight. The owners respond quickly to emails and if there are any issues.

2016:
My school chums and I have been renting homes for years and this home is on the top of the list. We had been trying to find a place on Lummi Island that could accommodate 10 and we were happy to find this one. Loved the home, the view and sunsets were fabulous and the beach fun to explore. We found trails for both our hikers and walkers. We dine in so the kitchen (love that frig) and dining room were perfect along with the deck and BBQ. The property managers were great to work with and helpful. We absolutely would return and recommend to others.

2016:
We rented the home on Lummi Island for two families for three nights over our Spring Break. We had a fabulous time and the best weather ever! The kitchen/family/dining room is a great gathering space and we could get all 10 of us at the table for meals. The sleeping arrangements were great and we enjoyed the deck and the beach, which is just a short descent down the bluff. We explored three parks on the island and enjoyed the small ferry and short ferry ride. This was our first time on Lummi and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

2014:
A thanksgiving dream! Amazing kitchen. Unstoppable views . Very very lovely home. Large enough for our family to spread out and really relax.
June 2014:  Beautiful home & landscaped property was perfect for our family get-together of 3 couples, 2 grannies & 1 20-something! Would go back in a flash! Clean, roomy home with well stocked kitchen where we whipped up some great meals. Convenient location just minutes fr the ferry yet quiet & private. Steep stairs in the backyard took us to the beach below where we were treated to a 2pm -2.5′ low tide which brought a great blue heron, sea stars, sea anemones, crab…Saw seals at dusk and gorgeous sunsets. Spectacular dining room view. When we arrived and discovered that the ice maker wasn’t working, John promptly drove over to drop us off a bag of ice. He is also the one that alerted us to the low tide which turned out to be the highlight of our stay. Baker’s Preserve trail is a short drive/bike ride away, 1.6 mi hike is steep and vigorous (not for 80 something grannies) but well maintained and no scary drop-offs — a good workout. Our impromptu stop at the Beach Side Cafe also impressed us with a great selection of WA IPA’s and craft beer and quality dishes. We had a tasty bacon/potato pizza, a pasta and a banh mi fried oyster sandwich while catching the tail end of the USA/Ghana soccer match. The one item we would’ve appreciated in the home would’ve been bikes for use. Otherwise, a perfect getaway!
May 2013:
We had a wonderful Mothers Day weekend. We started off Friday evening with dinner at the internationally known island restaurant, The Willows (had to make reservations 2 months in advance!). It was worth every penny! The dinner was just the beginning of a long casual weekend. The house has wonderful views and the master suite was just what we needed. It has a sliding door out to a corner of the large deck. The grandchildren slept upstairs near their parents and we had plenty of space. Everyone did what they wanted to do (indoors and out!) and when we all came together for a meal or a board game it was so fun! The kitchen is excellent – that is IF you want to cook! Ha! We came away with lots of timeless memories and we have already booked our next stay!
December 2012: You can’t ask for a better place!!! :) Our experience was not just excellent, but rather perfect! The house is in perfect conditions; it is very spacious, modern, nicely decorated, and well kept. The furniture was beautiful and we had every accessory that we needed.I love baking, and they even had a Kitchenaid mixer! Getting to the place was easy too. The ferry runs every half hour and the price was cheap. Traveling time was only 5 minutes. Keep in mind that they only accept american cash and no credit cards. I will highly recommend this summer house; it exceeded my expectations. Dealing with the owners was easy and straightforward. I give it 5 stars!
November 2013: Our family was here for an extended Thanksgiving and it was a perfect gathering place for a group that included a toddler, kids, young and older adults. The kids loved the upstairs game room and entertained themselves for hours while the adults enjoyed visiting downstairs. While we spent time on the beautiful beach and hiked the nearby woodland trail, it was after all, November, so we were grateful for indoor amenities — fireplace, big screen TV with movies, Wii system, and spacious kitchen for cooking. It could have rained all weekend (it didn’t) and we still would have had a great time! Managers Judy and John were wonderful and accommodated our needs and schedules. I’d highly recommend this Lummi Island vacation rental for all ages.- Kristin
August 2013: Everything needed for a very relaxing vacation, wheelchair ramp set up when we arrived, kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms are grand, propane delivered when needed, all in all a great time, deer and whales were truly a bonus! – Bill
July 2013: We spent the week here as part of a small family reunion and it was absolutely perfect. The views of the water are simply spectacular and the gorgeous sunsets just beg for a glass of wine out on the deck. Of course, that cup of tea or coffee in the morning while gazing out the windows as the fog slowly burned off was just as good. The house was fully appointed and extremely comfortable, and we loved the artwork. The grounds were lovely, and there were two very nice hiking trails on the island. House managers were a joy to work with. Our only suggestion is to be sure to check the ferry schedule very carefully. We would love to visit again! – Valerie
July 2013: This beautiful home offered great views, ample space and activities for our group, which ranged from 3 to 82 years old. The amenities are top notch; beds are comfortable. We saw deer, whales and eagles during our stay. Highly recommended. – Claudia
August 2012: The gorgeous pictures of this property on the listing site do not do it justice. It was absolutely breathtaking when we arrived. The house was immaculate and the views were stunning. Thank you to John who greeted us at the front door when we arrived. The house was extremely comfortable for 8 of us. The huge kitchen made it fun for all to gather around while preparing meals. We will be definitely be returning in the future. Thnks to all for such a great weekend! Sincerely, Jordan from Seattle
August 2012: A great house in a great location. The house easily accommodated 10 of us, and can do 11 comfortably. We had 6 adults and 4 children. The sunsets were amazing. Perfect sunsets every night. The sunsets alone were enough reason to choose this house. The kids had a blast on the beach and the large grassy backyard. The house has the facilities for someone with a limited mobility. The master bedroom is on the first floor with a fully accessible shower and bathroom . There are only three small stairs to get into the house. We did not use the available wheelchair ramp, but it was offered. The house was well stocked with the essentials (trash bags, TP, bath towels, tea, spices etc) The spotting telescope was high end, enough so that we wanted to put it away from the children. The caretaker was available if needed (nothing needed) and the house was ready for us upon arrival. The short ferry ride made it possible to take a trip into Fairhaven/Bellingham as well some of the family to take a day trip to Vancouver, BC. The Beach Cafe was great, we did not get to try the Willows Inn. Thanks for the great time!
August 2012: For a family reunion of 8 adults this home was ideal. The island was so peaceful and this well-maintained house exceeded our expectations. The location was ideal for a day trip to Vancouver, B.C. and a point of debarkation to the North Cascades Scenic Highway at the end of our stay. Also, if driving up from Seattle, I recommend diverting to Chuckanut Drive just north of Burlington.
July 2012:  Unbelievable peace and beauty is what we experienced at the Beach Haven! The views were even better than they appear in the online photos! Kitchen is very, very will stocked. Living area and bedrooms were very comfortable… We had 8 adults and all were impressed. Even the beds in the upstairs loft were comfortable for adults! Everything was very clean too…We enjoyed the lower deck with wine and cheese, we played cards, Wii bowling, watched movies, saw bald eagles and large ships passing through the strait, and even turned the lights off the watch an amazing thunder storm! We hiked the nearby Baker Reserve, which was challenging, but the “reward” at the top was the incredible views! All I can say is you won’t want to leave once you get there! We are already planning a family reunion here!
July 2012: We stayed at this lovely home the last weekend in July. With three families totaling 11, including 4 teens, we found plenty of room to play, cook, eat together and have one of the best times. The large, lovely kitchen was well stocked, including spices and condiments. The sleeping arrangement was perfect for three families, the beds were comfy, and everything we needed was provided. Outside the window, the view of the water, the San Juans and the yard was spectacular. The thoughtful owners even provided a high power telescope to watch the passing ships. We felt as comfortable as if we were visiting friends and look forward to staying there again next summer… longer next time.
March 2012: My family, a group of 11 people stayed for the weekend in March 2012, including my 81 year old mother. The house was so light and roomy for all of us. Nice and comfortable place for visiting, hanging out, watching movies with streaming Netlflix and another great place for the kids upstairs to play Wii and watch their movies with great benches/beds. The beach was great to play on and easy to get to. The beds were extremely comfortable and the decoration of the house was very tastefully done. We had never been to Lummi Island before this and really enjoyed the quietness of the island and the ferry was an adventure we hadn’t had before. Getting there was easy, especially with the frequent trips the Ferry took. I would totally recommend staying here again. In fact, we are hoping to book another reservation for the future.
March 2012: I just wanted to say what a WONDERFUL weekend we had at your Beach House.   The house was incredible, the view gorgeous and the memories we made there this weekend with our extended family was priceless.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!  I hope that we left the house as you expected us to and we are already talking about booking again next year if not sooner if it’s available.  We look forward to seeing you again. Thanks again so much, LH
